I am delighted to introduce a monthly FTSE 350 column, where I will be building a portfolio of shares selected for their fundamentals and opportunity to grow.
The primary objective of this FTSE 350 column is to build a strong portfolio of FTSE 350 businesses that can beat the market over the medium term. The column is for educational and informational purposes only and your own due diligence and risk assessment should be made before purchasing any of the equities discussed.
While maintaining an adaptable approach to seize optimal opportunities within the index, my strategy will aim to adhere to the following key principles:

- Share Price Trajectory: My attention will be directed towards shares demonstrating an upward trajectory, avoiding those consistently setting new lows.
- Healthy Balance Sheet: I’ll assess the health of the company's balance sheet through the lens of net debt to EBITDA, ensuring a financially robust foundation.
- Financial Acumen of Management: Evaluating the financial decision-making prowess of management will be a pivotal consideration in my stock selection process.
- Revenue Growth: I’ll look for companies displaying consistent revenue growth, signifying a positive operational trajectory.
- Risk Assessment: I’ll analyse the potential threats and risks to the success of the business, emphasising the importance of a resilient operating environment.
- Favourable Underlying Trends: My approach will prioritise companies benefitting from underlying trends, be they short, medium, or long-term, aligning with the company's overall strategy and goals.
- Positive Catalysts: Lastly, I’ll focus on shares with identifiable positive catalysts, enhancing their potential for growth and performance.
