This week we host Dr James Tansey, the CEO of Toronto-listed Klimat X on the podcast. Klimat X is one of those listed companies that is actually focused on making an immediate impact on climate change via its activities in reforestation and re-wilding. It does this by creating carbon credits through its work in Africa and Central America, which it sells on to other companies, including Fortune 100 companies.
This is a great podcast to listen to if you are interested in the fast-evolving market for carbon credits, which we think will become a much more potent force in years to come. James is a specialist in this space and is an associate professor with the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, where he runs the sustainability and social innovation research centre. He has a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of East Anglia.
On the podcast we go into depth on how the carbon credits market works and glean his views on its future and how rewilding projects fit into that. He discuss the work Klimat X is already doing in Sierra Leone and his future plans for the business. At a time when many investors are looking for stocks with excellent green credentials, Klimat X certainly looks hard to beat in this respect.
